Information on the processing of personal data

Information according to Art. 13 ff. General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

The German Aerospace Center (DLR) takes the protection of your personal data very seriously.

In accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which came into force on May 25, 2018, this data protection notice informs you about the processing of your personal data by DLR and the rights to which you are entitled. This information will be updated as necessary and made available to you.

  2. Purpose of data processing: We process your data to grant you access to our website, process your inquiries, and send you information.
  3. Legal basis: The processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6 Para. 1 b) GDPR, as the processing is necessary for the provision of our services. The use of cookies, scheduling of appointments, or the transfer of further data only takes place based on your explicit consent. You have the right to revoke this consent at any time.
  4. Recipient of your data: Our website contains external links to third-party websites and embedded videos, which may collect your data when clicked or viewed. We are not responsible for the content of these external sites. Once you click such links, the data protection regulations of the respective third-party provider apply.

    If you register for one of our services via contact forms or appointment schedulers on our website, you consent to the storage and processing of your personal data so that you can receive the desired information from us. You also allow us to contact you for marketing and business development purposes.

  5. Storage duration: Personal data will only be processed for as long as necessary. Data may also be stored if this has been provided for by the European or national legislator in EU regulations, laws or other provisions to which the controller is subject.

  6. Cookies and trackers: We use cookies on our website to optimize our services. You can deactivate the cookies at any time or deliberately select which cookies you want to allow.
  7. Your rights in relation to your personal data: You have the following rights vis-à-vis DLR with regard to your personal data. To exercise these rights, please contact the office specified in section 1.
    • Right of access – Art. 15 GDPR
      The right of access provides the data subject with a comprehensive insight into the data concerning him/her and some other important criteria, such as the purposes of processing or the duration of storage. The exceptions to this right set out in Section 34 BDSG apply.
    • Right to rectification – Art. 16 GDPR
      The right to rectification includes the possibility for the data subject to have inaccurate personal data concerning them corrected.
    • Right to erasure – Art. 17 GDPR
      The right to erasure includes the possibility for the data subject to have data erased by the controller. However, this is only possible if the personal data is no longer necessary, is being processed unlawfully or consent has been withdrawn. The exceptions to this right set out in Section 35 BDSG apply.
    • Right to restriction of processing – Art. 18 GDPR
      The right to restriction of processing includes the possibility for the data subject to prevent further processing of the personal data concerning them for the time being. A restriction occurs above all in the examination phase of other rights exercised by the data subject.
    • Right to data portability – Art. 20 GDPR
      The right to data portability includes the possibility for the data subject to receive the personal data concerning him/her from the controller in a commonly used, machine-readable format in order to have it forwarded to another controller if necessary.
    • Right to object – Art. 21 GDPR
      The right to object includes the possibility for data subjects to object to the further processing of their personal data in a particular situation, insofar as this is justified by the performance of public tasks or public and private interests. The exceptions to this right set out in Section 36 BDSG apply.
    • Withdrawal of consent
      Data subjects have the option of withdrawing consent given under data protection law at any time with effect for the future.
    • Complaint to a supervisory authority – Art. 77 GDPR
      Every data subject has the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. As a rule, the supervisory authority of your usual place of residence or workplace or the registered office of the controller is available for this purpose.
  8. Provision of personal data
    There is no obligation to provide personal data. If these are not provided in full or in part, processing is not possible or only possible to a limited extent. This does not apply to data that we process on the basis of consent.
  9. Liability for content
    The data we provide has been collected to the best of our knowledge and belief, but we do not assume any liability for the accuracy and completeness of the data. Fox Composites provides a list of material candidates that we deem suitable for a particular application using our algorithms. The suitability of these candidates for a specific application, the safety of these materials, and their economic efficiency must always be checked by trained personnel. Our demo data sets are intended as a demonstration of the capabilities of the dashboard and cannot be used for productive use cases. The reproduction of the demo data and its transfer to third parties is not permitted. This does not apply to unchanged raw data collected by Fox Composites from publicly accessible sources.
